When you sign up for a free trial, Terapeak verifies your payment information by submitting an authorization for roughly the same amount as the cost of the monthly Terapeak membership. This process helps us ensure that the information provided is associated with a valid, open account that can be charged successfully in the future. The authorization is not a charge, and will drop off of your account.
What's an authorization?
Authorizations are requests sent by Terapeak to your financial institution to verify that your payment method works. These requests are not charges, but in some cases they may affect your available account balance.
Why does an authorization affect my available balance?
Terapeak submits an authorization for a certain dollar amount, which can vary by region or by financial institution. This dollar amount temporarily affects your available balance because your financial institution is checking to see if you have those funds available.
Terapeak does not actually collect this authorization amount, and the authorization will automatically drop off your account. Check with your financial institution to learn when you can expect them release the funds.
